As part of the ‘Medicine Through Time’ module, Year 9 Health and Social Care learners presented a showcase about advances in medicine on 18th July.
They selected their own groups and then chose which advancement they wanted to focus on for the project. They were tasked with creating a stall as part of the showcase which they presented to Academy staff. Some of the stalls included: Dementia Cure, Lip Fillers, Asthma Cure, Kidney Transplant and Silicone Bowel Replacement.
The winners were Adam, Qadir and Esam. They had an outstanding stall about dementia and Adam went the extra mile by taking an online dementia course. They were each awarded a £20 voucher for the Broadway shopping centre in Bradford.
Layla Azeez, subject lead for Health and Social Care, said: “The learners thoroughly enjoyed the event and this manifested through the dedication and effort they put in. They all did brilliantly and looked so smart in their business wear.”
