Bradford Academy Takes Gold in Professional Development
The Quality Mark Award Panel of London Centre for Leadership and Learning has recognised Bradford Academy as achieving the Quality Mark Gold Award.
The awarding body saw that professional learning is a strength within the school. They believe that systems and processes are clear, well inter-linked, efficient and effective.
After initially applying for gold in three of the four key aspects of the framework, the verifier awarded gold in all of the four areas:
- Leadership of Professional Development
- High Quality Professional Development
- Evaluating the Impact of Professional Development
- Collaboration and Partnerships Supporting Professional Development
The report stated that: “(There has been a) significant shift in school culture since becoming an Academy” and that: “Professional development is key to the improvement.”
Jenny Tierney, Assistant Vice Principal for Teaching and Learning, said: “We’re extremely pleased to have been recognised for what we do in the school. This is an affirmation of all the hard work that surrounds the development of staff.”
The Gold Quality Mark Award is valid for three years (July 2016 – July 2019).
