Bradford Academy’s Post-16 open evening was held earlier this month to allow both current and prospective learners to find out more about what is available to them next academic year.
The evening started with an address from Principal Tehmina Hashmi before learners had the opportunity to talk to current members of Post-16 and staff about the courses and facilities the academy has to offer.
What is unique about Bradford Academy is the ‘Known, Valued and Understood’ ethos. Every learner will be guided to the best courses for them which is why we are currently asking people for their preferences of subjects at the first stage of application. This information will then be used to create the most suitable pathway for as many different young people as possible. This is completely different to many other schools where you are restricted by blocking systems. The provision at the academy is revisited each year to ensure it meets the needs of the learners joining us because no two groups of learners are the same.
Preference forms need to be in by 11th January 2017 and this will trigger an interview date where the academy will be able to make a conditional offer for the next academic year. Interviews will take place in March.
Further information and course booklets can be found on our website:
Should you wish to visit having missed the open evening, you can make an appointment to meet one of the Post-16 team by calling Emma Ellis on the school number: 01274 256789.
