Nadine Hirst, Director of Personalised Learning for Performing Arts, has been shortlisted for Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Telegraph and Argus School Awards. Gareth Dawkins has also been nominated posthumously for the Leadership award.
The newspaper has been in to the academy to film one of Nadine’s lessons, the footage of which will be shown at the ceremony later this year. Nadine said: “I am shocked and thrilled to have been nominated.”
The newspaper, along with Bradford Council and the University of Bradford, calls on people across the city to nominate inspiring figures in the education sector. They believe it’s important to recognise those who dedicate their lives to improving the chances of Bradford’s young people.
There are 12 different categories which encompass the full scope of work done in schools.
