Art

In GCSE Art and Design learners must complete ‘more that 1 project’.  Understanding of the assessment criteria is central to our delivery so that learners are well equiped to attain their target grades.  We do this by individual action planning, regular peer and self (as well as teacher) assessments with a key focus on teacher verbal feedback in real time.  We begin the course by engaging learners with existing artworks and filter this knowledge and understanding into their own outcomes.  In our second projects we try to ensure that learners are working with greater independance and confidence as well as them having input into their own ideas and themes…this prepares them for the externally set task and to study beyond GCSE.
