Entitlement is compulsory in year 12 for the 2 hour slot you are expected to be in a session. Missing a session will be treated the same as missing any other lesson. We are spending a considerable amount of money on external providers and expect you to make the most of the opportunities. If you miss a session you signed up for without a good reason we may try to recover the cost for that session from you.
The following choices last from September to July:

Or, you can choose from the following option and complete from September to December (Term 1) and then sway to another choice from January to April (Term 2)

- Computer Science (ICSE)
- Music Production
Work with an approved provider to obtain your First Aid at Work qualification. Having a first aid qualification can help you get employment and with voluntary work plus some employers pay first aiders an additional wage.
An opportunity for you to use some of our exciting tools / equipment. You will start off by undertaking some quick focussed practical tasks using machinery such as the laser cutter.
You will then be given the opportunity to design and make your own individual projects. The emphasis would be on you researching your own potential project and then planning it (including what materials you needs and stages of making). You will then be able to use the teacher’s expertise to help facilitate your project.
You will take part in a wide range of outdoor activities led by highly qualified and experienced Instructors in beautiful woodland surroundings. These include: Canoeing, Climbing, Archery, Orienteering, Bush Craft, Initiative & Team Building Exercises, Mountain Biking and many more.
Outdoor Education is widely acknowledged as making a significant contribution to the development of young people. It can help develop self-esteem, communication skills, teamwork, co-operation, foster a sense of achievement and potentially a lifelong interest in a healthy activity
The Centre has a wealth of experience in offering programmes of Accessible Adventure. Open all year round with a wide and varied range of exciting land and water-based activities which are accessible to everyone including people with sensory, learning or physical disabilities.
|Duke of Edinburgh
The D of E is a nationally recognised award that shows your extracurricular side. Highly valued by employers, colleges and universities. You will take part in expeditions, community projects, physical activities and learning a new skill.
This option requires a large out of school commitment.
|Sport & Fitness
Sport entitlement will consist of a range of activities. It will include the new and improved Fitness Suite where you can work on your own fitness.
There will also be opportunities to participate in football, tennis, badminton and volleyball amongst other sports.
The entitlement is there for you and its purpose is to have fun with your friends and give you a small break from your difficult A Levels.
You will have to bring your Sports Kit to this entitlement and the usual rules for not bringing it do apply.

The EPQ allows each student to embark on a largely self-directed and self-motivated project. Students must choose a topic, plan, research and develop their idea and decide on their finished project which may take the form of a: written report, production or artefact. This counts for the same UCAS points as an AS level.
