Key Learning Objectives A) understand the costs involved in business and how businesses make a profit
Key Activities / Homework A range of activities will be in place to teach learners the content that may arise in the exam.

Topics covered:

Understanding the costs involved in business, how businesses make a profit. Learners will be given real life business situations to which they must apply their knowledge. They will be able to explain how a business may become more profitable

Key Activities / Homework A range of activities will be in place to teach learners the content that may arise in the exam.

Topics covered:

Understanding and being able to us the planning tools that businesses use i.e. Breakeven formula and charts (being able to draw and interpret them, Profit and loss accounts.

Learners will complete budgets and learn how a cash flow forecast works (and complete one.)

Key Learning Objectives C) Understand how businesses measure success and identify areas for improvement.
Key Activities / Homework A range of activities will be in place to teach learners the content that may arise in the exam.

Topics covered:

Learners will focus more here on how to complete a profit and loss account, they will learn and be able to complete and analyse all other financial statements such as the balance sheet.
