Key Learning Objectives To develop an understanding of the history of art and the different conventions of portraiture.

To analyse and evaluate their own work, and that of others

To develop a range of 2d skills, recording from observation, memory and imagination. Painting is a particular focus.

Key Activities / Homework · Gather images of a broad range of painted portraits. Present as a mood board.

· Mood board of Hundertwasser’s paintings

· Extended hwk: 3D construction of ‘Dream House with portrait, in a Hundertwasser style.

Term 2: Conflict Mask
Key Learning Objectives To develop an understanding of the conventions of mask making.

To raise awareness of the plight of endangered species in Britain and around the World.

To develop a range of 3D techniques and learn about the work of other artists/designers.

Key Activities / Homework In this project you will design and make an ‘African style’ Animal mask to raise awareness of the plight of endangered species in Britain and around the World. You will develop a range of 3D techniques and learn about the work of other artists/designers.

 

· Make a mood board of different pictures of your endangered creature.

· Make your own campaign poster.. Think about the image and text that you use. Use convincing language. Your design should grab people’s attention.
