Year 8 Context Morning

This week we held a context morning for all Year 8 learners to look at the theme ‘how to make the most out of school’. The sessions considered any barriers a learner may face and how to combat these by building confidence, resilience and a growth mindset to help them fulfil their potential. We also considered future destinations – looking in particular at careers and which career best suited their personality! Please ask them to show you the buzz quiz on our website that helps match up personality types to different professions. To find the quiz, you can use the following link, Information for Parents & Carers – Bradford Academy (scroll down to the bottom to the I could section at the bottom of the page).

The final session was a presentation from a motivational speaker called Lee Jackson. He talked to the learners about why school is so important and how tasks can be broken down to become more manageable Lee was very engaging and has created a range of resources to support young people achieve all they can. He has provided us with a free resource which you can use to find out more about the content he covered in his talk and how to ‘Get Good at School’. Please use the following link to explore the resource – Get Good At School – follow up for students | Lee Jackson

We hope to run more events like this to inspire all the children at Bradford Academy as we continue to work together to help each individual be the best they can be.
