Term 1
Key Learning Objectives Age of Empire – is the unit studied in the first half term. Learners explore key ideas around Imperialism and the British Empire. In the second half terms learners will examine Slavery. This topic flows nicely from the first and examines issues around modern day contemporary slavery.
Key Activities / Homework Homework is given fortnightly. Details of which can be found on the Year 9 website.
Assessments Assessments can be found on the Y9 website in detail for all topics studied in Year 9. These are tested using both SOLO Taxonomy and GCSE grades. http://bradfordacademy9history.weebly.com/

Term 2
Key Learning Objectives After Christmas learners explore the Holocaust and will examine key issues of racism, prejudice, stereotyping and genocide. In the second half of the term, learners explore the impact of WW2 on the Home Front.

Term 3
Key Learning Objectives In this term learners will begin their History GCSE. The first unit will be on Anglo-Saxon and Norman England c1060 – 1088. This unit will be worth 20% of the final GCSE.
Key Activities / Homework These will be uploaded to the GCSE website by the Spring term so that those students wishing to study ahead can have the opportunity to do so.
Assessments The assessments will be based around developing skills in the specific requirements of exam questions.
