Key Learning Objectives Sound Sound
Key Activities / Homework Learners widen their knowledge and understanding of speakers and how sound can be amplified by undertaking a FPT making an amplifier for a mobile phone. Key activities focus on the planning and modelling stages of the design process when modifying and redesigning the original amplifiers to meet the needs of a specific target market. Learners then manufacture a passive speaker and investigate how quality of sound is effected by the 3D form and materials used.  
Assessments Written and verbal feedback provided in line with the Academy’s marking policy. Summative assessments in the form of a written paper to test level of knowledge and understanding of the scientific principles covered during this half term – Practical outcome and supporting design sheets assessed against the DT NC Levels.
