I initially worked for Yorkshire Building Society as a Sales/Mortgage Advisor. In 2004, my first child was born and I had the passion to start working with young people in Bradford. Being from Bradford, I wanted to put something back into the city I grew up in. I took a post at the primary school I attended as a child as a learning mentor. In 2007, I joined Bradford Academy and have been here ever since. My roles have changed depending on the need of the school but my commitment to young people of Bradford has remained the same.
I am the Director of Behaviour and Culture for the Academy and manage the Pastoral Team on a day to day basis. I also ensure that we continue to raise the bar and close the gap and with this in mind, our standards on rules and regulations remain consistent and implemented on a daily basis. In addition to the day-to-day running and management of school, I am also very passionate around inspiring our young people and lead on extracurricular activities ranging from Anti Bullying Week, a trip to Disneyland Paris and a summer school program for our new Year 7 learners coming from primary.
My ambition for our learners is that they unlock their potential, believe in themselves and most importantly become good human beings and make Bradford a positive place to live.
