Aimee Bedford

Senior Assistant Vice Principal

I graduated from Leeds Beckett University in July 2007 and worked as a support worker in a South Leeds SILC for 4 years, predominantly supporting children with Autism. Following this, I completed my teacher training in 2011 and secured a teaching role at Bradford Academy as an NQT. I have taught in all Key Stages but most recently in Year 5 and 6. In 2015 I became KS2 Lead and in 2018 I progressed to Senior Assistant Vice Principal, responsibly for KS2 and Behaviour for Learning.

I am the Senior Assistant Vice Principal for Bradford Academy Primary and I have a full time teaching responsibility. I currently teach Year 5 and ensure that they are given a broad and balanced topic curriculum, alongside the core subjects of Maths, English, Science and RE. I like my classroom to be engaging, supportive and a safe place to be. As part of my KS2 Lead role, I ensure that staff feel known and supported both in and out of the classrooms. Leading on Behaviour for Learning, it my passion that all children actively engage in their lessons, feel safe to question and know how they have achieved through the use of Building Learning Power.

My ambitions for our students is that they grow into kind young people that can share their positive values. They can communicate effectively in the wider world to ensure they have the best opportunities for a safe and successful future.
