Ann Wilkinson-Cox

Assistant Principal – Key Stage 5

After completing a BA (Hons) in Business Administration at the University of Huddersfield, I was not sure what career path I wanted to take. I secured a job as a Learning Assistant, and quickly realised that I wanted to teach. I completed my PGCE in Economics in 1996, and I have been working in schools both in the UK and internationally since I qualified.

I joined Bradford Academy in September 2008, as Head of Department for Business, before progressing to work on the Post 16 team, and am privileged to now be the Assistant Principal for Key Stage 5.

Working with Post 16 students has always been my passion; my role allows me to have the strategic lead for the whole key stage, ensuring that we are delivering the highest quality provision for all our learners, with the widest range of enrichment activities and opportunities for development.

My ambition for our students, is that they achieve at the highest level they are able, in order to access the higher and further education or career of their choice, and that they leave the academy as independent young adults, equipped to deal with university, the workplace and beyond.
