I moved to Bradford from Northumberland to study and qualified as a Primary Teacher in 2001. I have worked in Bradford schools throughout my career. I became interested in Special Educational Needs and chose to follow this as my career path in 2008. I worked in a local BD4 school as Inclusion Manager for 7 years and then made the move to Bradford Academy in 2015. I took on the role of Vice Principal in 2016 and Senior Vice Principal in 2018
I am the lead for Inclusion and Safeguarding in the Primary phase. Most of my time is spent ensuring that all children’s needs are met but particularly those with Special Educational Needs. I also liaise with specialist services to advise and influence our practice. Communicating with parents is also an important part of my role to ensure that positive relationships develop. I enjoy seeing learners progress through the academy and overcome any barriers to learning that they may have.
My ambitions for our students is that all learners achieve their goals and leave the academy with a positive future ahead of them.
