Admissions

Information about admissions

All Bradford Metropolitan District Council residents must apply for a primary or secondary school on the common application form. Parents should apply online via the Bradford Council website where details of admissions can be found.

In year applications need to be made to Bradford Council Admissions Team. We regularly update our numbers with Bradford who will be able to advise if there are any spaces in the particular year groups. Bradford maintains our waiting list for us and will contact us as and when spaces become available with details of applicants. In case of over-subscription, places are allocated in line with the admissions policy which was in place for the Reception or Year 7 intake for that year.

The governing body is responsible for determining the admissions policy, including criteria for allocating places where the school is over-subscribed. There are a total of 48 places in the 2 year old provision and 52 in the Nursery (on a part time basis) and 60 places in Reception. In Year 7 we have 230 places and in P16 we have 150 places.

The admissions policy for 2019-2020 can be downloaded below. Please note that to apply for a place in Bradford Academy on Church grounds, applicants MUST complete the SIF (Supplementary Information Form) for Church reasons (found at the end of the admissions document). Part of the Supplementary Information Forms MUST be completed by the faith referee before applying and the governing body will follow up on these applications.

Appeals

Parents/Carers need to apply to Bradford if they wish to appeal an admissions decision. Appeals for Reception and Year 7 intake are held in June or July prior to September start.

In-Year appeals are arranged at the time of request.
