Health and Social Core

Our Curriculum Intent Statement

Developing a broad range of skills such as empathy, health and wellbeing, we aim to prepare learners for life beyond their everyday experiences, allowing them to be equipped with skills that will bring them success in Yorkshire’s second largest employment sector. Lessons are created to build on learner’s previous learning with formative assessments aimed at scaffolding skills, knowledge and experiences. Learners are given opportunities to expand their knowledge outside the curriculum with high level resources including further reading, external speakers and hands on experiences. In Health and Social Care we strive to develop learners who embody a compassionate character that will help them to excel in sectors that require them to assess the health and wellbeing of others. Learners will leave Health and Social Care being well-round and empathetic to others.
