The Learning Resource Centre is at the heart of our school. Our facilities are available to all students to promote academic success and extracurricular enrichment.

The LRC plays an integral role in the life of KS3 learner, as this is where students will have their weekly literacy lesson. Learners will be given opportunities to engage in positive reading habits while also using the Bedrock Learning platform to improve their literacy skills.

We offer the following facilities for student and staff use:
- Thousands of fiction and non-fiction books spanning a variety of genres, formats and reading levels.
- Dedicated sections, such as: Accelerated Reader, Scholars, BLM, LGBTQ+, Manga, Non-Fiction and Junior Fiction
- Newspapers, magazines, and reference texts.
- 30 desktop computers available for student use.
- Board games, chess and cards
- Homework club available every afternoon
Requests / Reservations
Learners can request that books are ordered in if there are specific books we do not have in stock. If you have any requests or would like to make a reservation please email: j.spark@bradfordacademy.co.uk
LRC Expectations
You will:
- Be sensible and responsible when using the centre and be respectful to others.
- Keep food and drink to areas of the school where eating is allowed.
- Return all books and other items on time so others can also enjoy them.
We will:
- Ensure the LRC is a pleasant and welcoming place to be in.
- Listen to your opinions and recommendations.
- Help you find information, books and other resources you may require.
- Be friendly and helpful.
