Collective Worship is something we do through the whole of Bradford Academy including all of primary and secondary. Collective Worship at Bradford Academy is a time when the whole school or groups within the school come together to reflect upon God and the teachings of the bible. To encourage everyone to understand how Christian teachings are relevant in today’s world, we aim to help everyone reflect upon world events, social issues, and common interests. This will give everyone the opportunity to participate in engaging, relevant and meaningful experiences, providing opportunities for spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.
These may be in classes, year groups or bigger groups and whilst themes are similar across the whole school, we adapt things to make sure it is suitable for the age range receiving it.
Collective worship is led by staff and students and aims to be inspirational at all times for everyone in school.
Our collective worship aims to give pupils and school staff the opportunity to:
- Engage in an act of community.
- Express praise and thanksgiving to God.
- Be still and reflect.
- Explore the big questions of life and respond to national events.
- Foster respect and deepen spiritual awareness.
- Reflect on the character of God and on the teachings of Christ.
- Affirm Christian values and attitudes.
- Share each other’s joys and challenges.
- Celebrate special times in the Christian calendar
