I initially worked for Yorkshire Building Society as a Sales/Mortgage Advisor. In 2004, my first child was born and I had the passion to start working with young people in Bradford. Originating from Bradford, I wanted to put something back into the city I grew up in. I took a post at the primary school I attended as a child as a learning mentor. In 2007, I joined Bradford Academy and have been here ever since. My roles have changed to match the needs of the Academy but my commitment to young people of Bradford has remained the same.
I am the Lead for Behaviour & Culture for the Academy and manage the pastoral team on a daily basis. I also ensure that we continue to raise the bar and close the gap and, with this in mind, our standards on rules and regulations remain consistent and implemented on a daily basis. In addition to running and the management of the Academy, I am also very passionate around inspiring our young people and lead on extra curricular activities ranging from Anti Bullying Week, a trip to Disneyland Paris and a Summer school program for our new Year 7 learners transitioning from primary.
My ambition for our learners is that they unlock their potential, believe in themselves and most importantly become good human beings and make Bradford a positive place to live
